Kachikwu faults recent increase of petrol pump price by NNPC stations
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, has faulted the recent N4 increase in the pump price of petrol at all the NNPC fuel stations nationwide. NNPC last week increased its pump price at its stations from N141 per liter to N145 per liter.

Photos: Protest as Lagos bans LAGBUS from plying Ikorodu Road
Residents of Ikorodu community in Lagos state are currently staging a protest following the decision of the state government to ban the LAGBUS(red buses) from plying their route which already has the BRT (blue buses) plying it.
Acting Commissioner for Transportation, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, at a press conference on Friday, said the decision was taken ahead of plans to introduce Intelligent Traffic System along the BRT corridor in the state.
Elegushi said consequently, all LAGBUS would no longer be allowed to load or drop passengers along the BRT corridor, pointing out that it was part of steps taken to relocate all other franchises from the use of the corridor.

CAN calls for 3-day fasting, prayers for Nigeria
To commemorate the 56th independence anniversary of Nigeria, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has called on Nigerians to embark on a 3-day fasting and prayer session for the nation and President Buhari. CAN President, Samson Ayokunle, said this in a statement made available by his head of media and publicity, Adebayo Oladeji.
“We call on all Christians nation-wide to seek the face of God for divine intervention as our political leaders are seeking for the panacea to the economic recession and the attendant problems,” the statement in part read
FG files suit against Chevron, ENI, other oil firms over alleged undeclared crude cargoes
According to Reuters, the Federal government has filed a lawsuit against Italian energy firm ENI, U.S. major oil company, Chevron and other international oil firms over some crude exports, a government official said on Tuesday.
“The claim dates back to last March and refers to a request to our subsidiary in Nigeria for a payment of about $160 million.
ENI believes the claim has no ground and shall resist in court. Similar requests have been put forward to several other international oil companies operating in Nigeria.”ENI said by email.

Suspected herdsmen kill three in Adamawa
Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen stormed Thambo village in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State killing 3 persons and injuring 3 others yesterday July 13th. The suspected herdsmen who were said to be about 100 hundred in number began shooting when they entered the community. After the attack, they carted away about 100 cows.

Ambode vows to make Badagry Africa's hub of tourism

Couple's only child who was born 10 years after marriage abducted in Okokomaiko, Lagos
Two year old Samuel Akpuafor jnr, who is the only child of his parents was abducted in May this year. The Nation reports that Samuel who was born 10 years after marriage was kidnapped while he was eating outside at his parents Okokomaiko home in May 19th. Father of the missing child, Samuel Akpuafor, said his world collapsed when his only child was abducted.
