Two Brothers, Salesgirl Accused of Kidnapping

Two brothers and a girl, 25, have appeared before a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, for allegedly kidnapping one Olakunle Ojerinde.

The brothers, Ettenbom Udoh, 27; and David Udoh, 27, and wife of Victor Eno, the first defendant, a sales girl, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery.
One of the charges read: “Victor Eno ‘m’, Etenbom Udoh ‘m’ and David Udoh ‘m’ on or about October 22, 2012 at Ajibola Aluko Street, Okota, Lagos, in the Ikeja Judicial Division kidnapped one Olakunle Ojerinde and demanded a ransom for his release.”

According to the charge, the alleged offence is contrary to Section 269 (3) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The prosecutor, Mr. A. A. George, informed the court that the accused on October 22, 2012, at Ajibola Aluko Street, Okota, Lagos, while armed with guns, robbed Ojerinde of his Acura TL Saloon car with number plate APP 504 AH and Blackberry mobile phone.

After listening to the defence and prosecution counsel, the presiding judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye, adjourned the matter to March 5 for continuation of hearing.
